Regional and National News:

March - April 2007

I thought you might like to be a little more familiar with how the dioceses are broken down regionally and nationally.

• We are in Region (V) Five, of fourteen regions within the United States. Region V includes the Dioceses of Alexandria, Biloxi, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Covington, Houma-Thibodaux, Jackson, Knoxville, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Lexington, Louisville, Memphis, (Arch)Mobile, Nashville, (Arch)New Orleans, Owensboro, and Shreveport.

• Deacon Arden Wolterman (of Memphis Tennessee) was elected the new Regional Representative for Region V at the meeting of Diaconate Directors held the week of October 20, 2006. He will fill the remaining term of Deacon Ray Duplechain of New Orleans.

• Deacon Greg Urban (Rockford IL) is the Executive Director for the National Association of Diaconate Directors. He is in charge of all of the Directors for the United States. Each of the Regional Directors report to him on news and information within each of the 14 regions. Each region has a meeting once a year to discuss news and info within each of our dioceses.

• I do make the Regional meetings and the National meetings. This information will be forwarded to all of you via this web site as it is filtered down to me. This should assist all of us in staying on top of current information regionally and nationally.
